I wanted to share some of my artwork with you, as art plays a significant role in my life. My passion for watercolour has been a constant, and recently, amidst a challenging period of change, I have found comfort in art to manage feelings of being overwhelmed, calm my racing thoughts, and navigate the challenge of processing an abundance of information.
Turning away from my laptop to grasp my pad, brushes, and paint, I simply draw whatever springs to mind. This gives my "Executive Brain" a chance to relax, and I become engrossed in the emerging, developing, and unfolding creation. It is not something I plan, it is more instinctive allowing a sense of focus, flow and mindfulness. I do not consciously decide, "I'd like to paint a tree." I allow the brush to determine what happens.
When change occurs, it is crucial to take time to rest, not only physically but also mentally. This rest period enables our executive brain to recover, assimilate ongoing events, and thereby enhancing our ability to learn, gain insights, and make decisions about how to move forward.
How do you take time out and engage your creative side?
I gave each painting a title, and then decided to have a bit of fun with ChatGPT asking it to describe each painting. I was quite impressed! :o)

"Sharp Shower" paints a vivid picture of nature's raw power and beauty. A vast expanse of ocean, its surface rippled by the approaching storm. The sky above is a striking mustard hue, foretelling the impending deluge. Suddenly, a diagonal shaft of rain cuts through the air like a silver curtain, descending toward the turbulent grey waves below.
